"After receiving a Masters of Fine Art in Painting and Ceramics in 2004 my husband, Kent Harris, and I opened Blue Sage Pottery and Art Gallery located on Historic Rt. 66 in Amarillo. Between creating art, teaching art and running the gallery, I keep myself very busy. I love to create unique artworks in several mediums including acrylic paint, pastel and clay. The big dramatic sky and scraggly earth of the West inspire me to create lively landscape paintings and drawings Some of my pieces are expressive interpretations of canyon and mountain scenes, while other artworks are heavily textured abstractions which are derived from both natural forms and spaces I have experienced.
I also enjoy making one-of-a-kind functional pottery. Bowls, pitchers, vases, and mugs are some of my favorite forms to create on the potter's wheel. Currently, I am using mostly stoneware clay and shino glazes.
My artwork has been shown in competitive national exhibitions as well as juried art festivals around the country. I always have artworks on display at our gallery on 6th Ave. "
